The second annual Broadway Benefit Bash lit up West Hollywood on November 25, 2024, transforming The Chapel at The Abbey into a vibrant celebration of Broadway magic and community support. Produced by Walid Chaya and Studio For Performing Arts LA, alongside Ishka Maher and Musical Mondays, in support of the LA LGBT Center, the event struck the perfect balance between entertainment and philanthropy.
This year, the Broadway Benefit Bash embraced the special theme Wickedly, inspired by the excitement surrounding the upcoming Wicked film. Renamed the Wickedly Broadway Benefit Bash for the occasion, the event celebrated the magic of Oz — from The Wizard of Oz to The Wiz — creating a musical extravaganza that delighted fans of all things Broadway.
The evening began with an engaging screening and singalong hosted by the “Fans of MuMo,” setting the stage for a spectacular night. The live performances that followed featured a stellar cast of talented performers, including Walid Chaya, Renee Wylder, Heaven Nunez, Allie Stanzione, Rawan Chaya, Anthony Vacio, Lamayah, Amanda Hadge, and Camilo Castro. Each performer brought their unique artistry and charisma to the stage, leaving the audience spellbound.
Co-producer and host Walid Chaya set the tone for the night with his vibrant energy and engaging stage presence. Ishka Maher’s expertise in curating unforgettable musical experiences shone through, with each part of the evening building excitement and energy. Together, their leadership ensured a seamless, enchanting event that truly celebrated the spirit of the Broadway community.
The Wickedly Broadway Benefit Bash was more than just an entertainment event — it was a vehicle for meaningful change. Attendees contributed an overwhelming amount of canned food and gently used clothing, more than doubling last year’s donations. The LA LGBT Center’s Pride Pantry team collected the items, ensuring they would directly support those in need during the holiday season.
As the night drew to a close, the resounding success of this year’s Wickedly Broadway Benefit Bash left attendees eager for more. With plans to continue the tradition annually, the producers hope to build on this momentum and further strengthen the community’s commitment to creativity, connection, and giving back.
