The Story of Rennix “Ren” Leo About Music, Film & the Vision Behind Mirrorvision Entertainment

Before Mirrorvision, the films, and all the photos with names everybody recognizes, Ren Leo was just building.

Back in New Orleans, he was making music as Big Ren — writing, producing, putting records together, and figuring out the business side at the same time. In 2002, he released That Streets Won’t Let Me Go, with his name in the credits as a writer, producer, and executive producer.

But music was really only part of the vision.

Over the years, Ren found himself around a lot of people who helped shape music, sports, entertainment, and culture — from Shaq and Magic Johnson to Master P, Juvenile, Mannie Fresh, 50 Cent, Jeezy, Too $hort, J. Prince, and plenty more.

And somewhere along the way, the vision got bigger.

That eventually became Mirrorvision Entertainment — taking the same independent mindset he had in music and bringing it into film, media, and entertainment.

When you look through the archive now, the cool part isn’t just who Ren has a picture with. It’s seeing the story of somebody who’s been around this world for years, kept building, kept making connections, and kept thinking about what could come next.

The music was one chapter.

Mirrorvision is the bigger picture.
