Selena Gomez Kickstarts 2021 With New Spanish Single “De Una Vez”; Big Success Within Week 1

Selena Gomez De una Vez

Over 10 years ago, in 2010, Selena Gomez, who was then mostly known for her role as “Alex Russo” on Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place, released the track “Un Año Sin Lluvia“, a single recorded entirely in the Spanish language. Now, in 2021, the pop megastar has just released her second Spanish-language single, “De Una Vez”. Gomez announced on her Twitter that the single was set for release on Jan 14, and that held up to be true.

Billboard reported earlier in the week of the presence of multiple promotion murals advertising “De Una Vez” and “Baila Conmigo”, presumably another single from Selena. With the information gathered so far, it seems safe to say that Selena Gomez may just be prepping the release of a studio album recorded entirely in the Spanish language.

If an album from Gomez is on the way this year, the “Lose You to Love Me” singer is setting herself up for a massive 2021. It was recently announced that streaming service HBO Max would be releasing the second season of Gomez’s cooking show, Selena + Chef. As the multi-talented artist has been successfully expanding her acting range in recent years, it seems as though she is planning to expand her vocal and musical range as well.

Within the first week of release, Gomez’s latest single has already surpassed 11 million streams on Spotify alone. This may be a lasting momentum we see throughout 2020.
