B-Wise, born Brandon Wise, is an independent gospel rapper from Asheville, North Carolina, whose twenty-year-long music career continues to flourish. Although there have been many challenging moments throughout his journey, B-Wise is determined to continue pursuing his creative calling.
Wise was thirteen years old when he first picked up a microphone to record his own songs. However, his gospel rap career didn’t begin until he was seventeen. After years of selling drugs at a young age, Wise returned to the church and eventually re-committed his life to God. His music has been different ever since. The first song he recorded as a renewed believer was titled, “Who the Son Sets Free.” Today, Wise continues to use this gift to share his story and experience with others.
There have been many artists, producers, and people in Wise’s life who have inspired his journey. Kanye West is an artist that Wise admires immensely and he hopes he gets the chance to work with one day. Kirk Franklin, Gospel Gangstaz, and Cross Movement are a few other artists that have inspired B-Wise throughout his career as an artist.
However, it’s his supporters that are the ones who inspire and encourage him the most. “My biggest supporters are my family, close friends, and fans who have followed my music since I started at seventeen,” says B-Wise. Lately, his newest supporters – those he’s connected with through social media and local churches in the Atlanta area – have been a major source of encouragement to him as he steps into twenty-twenty-two as the owner of Wise Fragrances and with new music on the way.
B-Wise’s third project, Triune, is set to be released in early February. His latest single, “He Reigns,” is currently available on all streaming platforms and the music video can be watched on YouTube, along with his other hits.
Wise hopes that he will be able to get back to performing and travelling this year. Most of all, he hopes to get the chance to collaborate with other gospel hip-hop artists, such as Bizzle and others signed to God Over Money Records.
