More than just making music mixes, it is part of the DJ’s job to select tracks that fit the target audience and are engaging and entertaining.
“It’s all about giving the audience a good reason to attend your show and you putting in the work to help them create beautiful memories,” says DJ Ty Street. Ty’s experience in the field, highly energetic performances, and strong music background set him apart, enabling him to solidify his place.
Over the last 15 years, DJ Ty Street has performed in multiple clubs around the world, opening for Brad Paisley, Brantley Gilbert, Luke Combs, and Travis Tritt, among others. He has also played at different music festivals in his home country. DJ Ty Street is the official DJ of the Patriotic Festival held in Virginia and has been featured on CMT.
He says his main aim is to create music that resonates with the audience, sharing his love for country music with the rest of the world. DJ Ty Street’s father, Gary Street, is a legend in the industry. Gary was a member of the “Easy Street,” a music group that saw most of its success in the ’90s taking part in shaping the future of country music.
Growing up, DJ Ty Street spent most of his time around his father accompanying him to band practices and even performances. This made him fall even more in love with country music, and he says the experience inspired him to start his journey in the music industry.
Ty Street worked on his craft, trying to better understand country music, his target audience, and how he could curate memorable performances. With time, he has become a household name in the music space. DJ Ty Street has been a part of many sponsored events hosted by Red Bull, Monster Energy, Vans, Yuengling, and Jack Daniels. He has also been featured in celebrated online publications such as California Herald, Forbes, and the American Daily Post.
“Attaining success in any field is all about you working hard and fighting for what you believe in,” says Ty. He notes that while sometimes the road will be difficult and you will feel like you can’t go on, you should never stop chasing your dreams. With determination, resilience, and focus, nothing is unattainable.
DJ Ty Street also adds the importance of investing in your career and always looking for ways to improve. “The industry is changing, and unlike some years back, almost everything has gone digital,” says Ty. As a creative, having a strong social media presence will increase your chances of success. DJ Ty Street says that although he has been in the music scene for over 15 years, he is still polishing his skills, helping him deliver outstanding performances both on tour and in clubs.
When asked about future plans, DJ Ty Street says his goal is to continue growing his career and get more people to hear his music. “I’d love to be on amphitheater or stadium stages as part of a national tour sharing my talent, story, and energy with even bigger crowds,” says DJ Ty Street.
