16-year-old Dutch Producer, IcyDavy, Goes International

The global music industry is an ever-changing entity. With new players coming in and old ones retiring, it’s a fast-paced world where those who don’t keep up are left behind. But there are always exceptions to the rule, and Dutch producer, IcyDavy, is one of them. Despite being a relatively young player in the industry, IcyDavy has already rubbed shoulders with the elite from around the world like Toronto, Canada, and Las Vegas. At 16, IcyDavy has become a force to be reckoned with in the global music industry, and he says he’s just getting started. With his debut album, “Euphoria”, dominating streaming platforms charts worldwide and creating an atmosphere of anticipation for what’s next from this talented youngster, it’s clear IcyDavy is ready to become a key player in the industry.

IcyDavy gained notoriety when he produced “Wait for Me on Christmas”, a hit song by English-speaking Dutch rapper, KVBA. The song and beat transport the listener to Christmastime, a joyful period where family and loved ones come together in celebration. IcyDavy’s incredible talent shines through in this production, giving the listeners an incredible experience they’re unlikely to forget. For IcyDavy, entertaining people and taking them to another dimension through his music has always been his dream.

Born David Goversen in Tilburg, Netherlands, IcyDavy fell in love with music at a young age. By 13, he knew he wanted to pursue music for the rest of his life. IcyDavy’s journey began in earnest when his parents gifted him a new keyboard and speakers to start his career as a music producer, and that’s when he embarked on his first project. With his heart and mind fully dedicated to music, IcyDavy’s journey in the industry went smoothly. He quickly mastered the ins and outs of a music production software called FL Studio and created several beats influenced by American music producer, Scott Storch, whose music he listened to from an early age.

Gradually, IcyDavy perfected his skills and started doing bigger projects. His big break came when he joined a live stream from well-known volleyball star, Daenan Gyimah, who’s also known as rapper Kofi from Toronto, Canada. Kofi played for the UCLA Bruins and has been described as the next Drake for his rapping prowess. During the live stream, IcyDavy performed one of his beats for Kofi, and the rapper was smitten. “Everything is there, for fourteen. Give homeboy some quarantine time, and he’ll be triple platinum by the age of seventeen,” Kofi and director Jai Shaun White from Las Vegas said.

In 2021, IcyDavy participated in the “Challenge the Loop” event hosted by Dutch producer Renjiroo from the Dutch music label, QuatroVision. Shortly after, IcyDavy performed his beat at an event in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and impressed everyone with his skillset. In February 2022, IcyDavy took his talent to a broader audience when he released “Euphoria”. The producer says his aim was to give the audience a feeling of intense excitement and happiness, and he seems to have achieved that goal already. “Euphoria” is now available on various music platforms like Spotify, Google Play Music, Apple Music, iTunes, Amazon Music, JioSaavn, and many other international platforms like Deezer and Tidal. IcyDavy’s next goal is taking on world stages starting with Los Angeles, California.
