MediaU – The New Learning Offering for the Future of Your Film and Media Career

MediaU is a new, comfortable and dedicated place for media learning, taught by highly skilled television professionals by offering courses to accelerate your entertainment career.

Being available worldwide, this Hollywood learning experience will increase your knowledge and experience in the media workplace. Launched by former Disney and National Geographic executive Adam Leipzig, MediaU was founded to address the worldwide explosion of content, and the massive underserved need for skilled personnel for film and network production. It covers career-focused skills that its students can apply directly to jobs in the film industry.

Among the entertainment professionals involved are the notable screenwriter and director Terry George (The Name of the Father, Hotel Rwanda, The Promise), writer and producer Tamika Lamison (Ferguson Rises), actor and producer Harry Lennix (The Blacklist, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, The Five Heartbeats), former President of Television for Berlanti Productions David Madden, and the CW Network’s SVP of Current Programming Stephen Tao.

Tamika Lamison, creator and executive director of the Commercial Directors Diversity Program and a MediaU advisor stated, “MediaU is all about opening the doors of access for content creation, filmmaking, and television – for everyone – including under-represented communities. When we put the tools of storytelling into well-trained hands, and we intentionally diversify our outreach so that we include all – we will up-level a generation and invite perspectives that are both unique and universal.”

In the many options of courses MediaU offers is “The Marketing & Distribution Roadmap for Independent Filmmakers”. This course offers key marketing techniques and the essentials for engaging audiences in content. Among the highlights of this course are creating strategies and game plans for marketing and distributing independent films.
