The punk rock scene has always been a melting pot of raw emotions and unfiltered expression, and guitarist Andrea Celani is no stranger to this world of untamed creativity. Hailing from Italy, Celani’s path to becoming the driving force behind the punk rock band “heydukeyousuck” is nothing short of inspiring.
In 2019, Celani made the bold decision to follow his passion for music and cross oceans to pursue his dreams in Los Angeles. Enrolling at the prestigious Musicians Institute College Of Music, Celani honed his craft in the Guitar Performance Program, immersing himself in the world of music theory and technique.
Since his move to LA, Celani has embraced various opportunities in the hip-hop and RnB industry, working alongside notable artists and producers. One of the defining moments in his career came in 2021 when he had the chance to collaborate with platinum producer “CHASETHEMONEY” on an album for the artist Jamarius. This encounter opened doors to a network of influential figures in the music world, including producer MVW and artist Pardyalone.
While Celani’s journey was already inspiring, it was his encounter with the artist “heydukeyousuck” that truly changed his life. Working closely with the band as a songwriter and guitarist, Celani found himself drawn to their infectious energy and camaraderie. Soon, he became an integral part of the band, performing at renowned venues like “Roseville” in Sacramento and selling out shows at the iconic “Viper Room” and “Troubadour” in LA.
Despite the challenges of moving to a foreign country and the language barrier, Celani never lost sight of his dreams. He found solace in music, using his bluesy approach to the guitar to create a unique and captivating sound. For Celani, music is more than just a display of technical prowess; it is a means of expressing his true self and connecting with others on a deeper level.
Recently, “heydukeyousuck” released their much-anticipated first album, “Diary Of A Simpy Kid.” The album, a labor of love spanning nearly two years, features collaborations with the likes of Kellin Quinn from Sleeping With Sirens, SK8, Demario SB, and Seth Bishop. “Diary Of A Simpy Kid” delves into themes of breakups and mental health issues, all presented with a nostalgic early 2000s pop-punk vibe.
Celani’s signature guitar loops and co-writing contributions are evident throughout the album, adding his personal touch to the band’s music. This album is a testament to the band’s vulnerability and ability to connect with their audience through the power of music.
As Celani reflects on his journey, he envisions “heydukeyousuck” stepping onto the global stage, reaching audiences far beyond Los Angeles. Their first album marks a milestone in their career, and Celani’s dreams include embarking on a European tour and sharing his music with fans worldwide.
With passion as their compass and creativity as their weapon, Andrea Celani and “heydukeyousuck” have proven that music knows no boundaries. Their journey serves as a reminder to all aspiring artists that with determination, talent, and a supportive community, dreams can become reality.
