The music industry is considered one of the most competitive, which has resulted in many aspiring artists being hesitant about joining the space. But that has not stopped Denim Nicole from claiming her spot. At just 18 years old, Denim is a popular name in the music industry, releasing hit after hit and demonstrating her musical talent for all to see, with her songs gaining thousands of views across various platforms. Denim has worked with prominent individuals in the music industry, including top producers Donn Rob and OzTheWizard. However, these are not the only qualities that make Denim unique. What makes Denim even more interesting is her resilience and diversity as a music artist.
Denim’s unique style of music and ability to take on different genres allows her to perfectly tell her story, using her incredible talent to spread positivity and encourage her listeners. She says that her goal is to create music that will leave an impact on her fans, motivating them to get out and fight for their dreams.
Denim has had a deep interest in music since she was a child. She explains that she has been performing since she was a kid, singing and dancing at family gatherings. But Denim didn’t pursue music professionally until she was eleven when she was introduced to a family friend with ties to the music industry.
By that time, Denim had written several songs, and when she sang one of them, the family friend was in awe and introduced her to Donn Robb and OzTheWizard. According to Denim, the experience working with these two producers has greatly helped shape her career as she got to learn a lot from them.
Unlike many in the industry who judged Denim based on her age and not her talent, Donn and OzTheWizard were among the first to believe in her and support her to become a better artist, establishing her place in the industry. Denim’s brother, the artist SpaceKillem who has produced three-quarters of her new songs and produced music for Raymoon and Zona Man, is also someone who has believed in and supported her from the start.
However, like any other journey, Denim’s hasn’t been without its challenges. Despite working hard and writing at least three singles a day, Denim lost all her original recordings, which was a massive blow to the young dreamer. She had also been picked to attend the BET Awards (2019) after her song “Lemonade” premiered on BET Jams in August 2018, and with the unexpected pause in production, Denim was back to zero.
She explains that with all her pre-recorded music gone, she felt like she couldn’t continue her journey and even thought of quitting. But Denim’s passion for music was too great to be left unexplored, and while it was discouraging, she started her journey from scratch again. Today Denim Nicole is a top emerging artist in the US music scene, with her songs receiving massive attention from the public.
Denim has written and composed several singles, including “Wasted,” “Stuck in the Dark,” “I Know,” and “Goku,” all of which are set to be released this month. As a young artist, she says that she aims to encourage others by sharing her story, showing everyone that challenges are not meant to break you but instead build you. “Not everything will work out as you expected,” says Denim, “but that shouldn’t give you a reason to give up on your goals.”
