Chicago artist Phil Shaw blossoms out of lockdown. The COVID-19 pandemic made many changes to the world, especially the music industry. While some of the ramifications have been damaging, there have been those that have used the phenomenon to their advantage. Phil Shaw is one of those people, as the pandemic led him to act on his dreams of being an artist and producer.
Things still haven’t gone back to normal since Coronavirus changed everything, but they’re inarguably better than the height of lockdown in 2020 and 2021. Locked in the house like the rest of us, Phil Shaw took this time to get back into old hobbies and perfect his art. Having played multiple instruments since a child, he used his musical background to produce his first tracks during quarantine. In his own words “it felt as if the whole world was on pause, but my creativity and passions had time to flourish”. Now that things are opening back up Phil Shaw is eager to go out and make an impression nationwide and beyond.
