What inspired you to start playing and making music?
Being around a lot of music growing up is what got me into creating. I really fell in love with artists and their styles.
As I develop my music, I use influences from multiple sources to create my sounds.
I keep finding new ways, to this day, to switch up my music and stay inspired throughout the process.
Have you ever participated in music competitions?
When I was younger, a few talent shows. Yes!
I was not as musically inclined at that time, but it was a fun and exciting experience to challenge myself and know that I am capable of moving a crowd with my musical talents.
What are some of the challenges of doing Live Musical Performances?
Luckily with the DJ decks, it’s pretty easy to navigate a bad “riff”. I’ve had transitions not go as smoothly as I have planned and have had to be creative on how to muff up the sound to make it deliver crisp and back on beat.
Other than that, we do a lot of rehearsals beforehand to make sure the shows run smoothly. But it’s also exciting when some things don’t go as planned, the most important thing is to always stay ready and prepared and understand how to adapt to changing situations that may arise while doing live events!
What skills have you gained that help you perform?
Patience and timing. A good set can really be crafted by getting transitions down smooth and knowing when to extend a drop.
Understanding how to read a crowd is a major skill that I have acquired over the years! You have to know and understand the audience!
This could mean, what city you’re performing at, the age demographic of the crowd, is it a weekend show or weekday show, is it a big venue or small.
All of these things matter and I ensure my team and I are always prepared to bring the best performance!
When can we expect another performance?
Soon! I will be looking to go on tour early next year. You should be able to catch me in your city!
Once the new EP drops we will be doing a big tour, which excites me the most. Stay tuned!
