Alternative recording artist dog returns with his smoldering new offering “Within.”

Arriving via Cleopatra Records, “Within” details dog’s internal battle with his mental health via an animated 3D music video that expands on themes of childhood and self-exploration.

Part of the inspiration behind the track was dog’s desire to fuse his emo indie-pop style with grungy Hip Hop inspired drums.

“I thought it would be cool to have a shoegaze-sounding, Explosions In The Sky-type melody with hip-hop-inspired machine drums,” dog said.

In 2021 dog released his Popstar album, home to his fan-favorite “Thinking Too Much.” The release of “Within” marks the onset of his upcoming Monster album, which harnesses the adversities dog overcame in his youth to motivate listeners to own their flaws.

“I want the listeners to know that having qualities that make you out to be a monster to some people, are qualities that people who actually love you will find most charming,” dog said. “It’s okay to be different and misunderstood and finding a way to properly channel how you feel. It will help others understand what it’s like to walk a mile in your shit.”
