For Desiree Alford, wellness isn’t a product—it’s a process rooted in deep transformation. As the founder of West Coast Wellness Co, a holistic coaching company based in Washington, Desiree has created a movement focused on helping people heal at the source. Her programs go beyond nutrition plans and workouts. They’re designed to break destructive cycles, uncover the root of unhealthy behaviors, and rebuild a sustainable path to health—mentally, physically, and emotionally.
Raised in a small town on the west coast of Washington by entrepreneurial parents, Desiree’s drive to lead and build came naturally. After graduating high school, she moved to Los Angeles to study fashion and eventually launched her first company, Harts & Pearls, in 2011. With just a few hundred dollars to her name and a newborn daughter to support, she scaled the business to six figures in under three years. But her most profound breakthrough didn’t come from business school or product sales—it came from sobriety.
April 2025 marked fifteen years of sobriety. Desiree credits her recovery journey as the spark behind West Coast Wellness Co. What began as a deeply personal transformation became a calling. She realized that true health wasn’t just about what people ate or how they exercised, but about their inner world—the beliefs, habits, and coping mechanisms that often go unnoticed. With that realization, she set out to create a new kind of wellness company, one that tackles the internal before promising external results.
From Recovery to Coaching: Building West Coast Wellness Co
Launched in 2022, West Coast Wellness Co started as a 1:1 coaching service focused on helping clients address the root of their weight loss challenges and addictive tendencies. As demand grew, so did the vision. In January 2024, Desiree introduced a group coaching program designed to offer personalized, scalable wellness at an affordable price point. It sold out in under a week—doubling the participant goal she had set. With custom nutrition, workouts, supplements, and accountability partners, the program has quickly become a life-changing experience for many.
The transformations are real. One early client entered the program overwhelmed by suicidal thoughts and self-hatred. She left 65 pounds lighter and completely renewed in mindset and confidence. For Desiree, stories like this are the reason West Coast Wellness Co exists. Her goal isn’t just to help people lose weight—it’s to help them take their life back.
Honoring Her Roots While Redefining Wellness
Inspired by the legacy of her late father, who ran several successful businesses and passed away from ALS in 2018, Desiree named her company with intention. “West Coast” was a nod to home. “Wellness” was her purpose. She’s now building a brand that blends physical health, emotional freedom, and the kind of accountability most wellness programs don’t offer.
The next group coaching launch is set for June 26th, and more innovations are on the way—including a new 30-day challenge and a fully customized nutrition plan. Desiree is committed to creating tools that work in the real world and honor each person’s individuality, lifestyle, and story.
A Mission to Heal from Within
Her mission is simple but powerful: help people stop living on autopilot. For those who feel stuck, lost, or disconnected from their potential, West Coast Wellness Co offers a roadmap back to self. This isn’t a business built on gimmicks or fads—it’s built on lived experience, hard-won insight, and a relentless passion for transformation.
