Taking the leap to pursue an artistic career instead of taking the more traditional path can be intimidating at times. Yet, it is a decision that young musical sensation Cameron, known as c6merxn on social media, is glad to have taken. Cameron is well on his way to building a stunning career in music with his strong beats and killer rhymes. We caught up with this up-and-coming musical superstar to provide an exclusive interview for fans where he talked about his career and what music means to him.
Q. Hello Cameron, thanks for taking the time to talk to us. Our first question is, Why did you first start making music?
A. Why of course!
I grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. In elementary school, I always found myself enjoying music class the most. I started to play the recorder, piano, and a variety of other instruments. I found music to be my escape from reality. When I am focused on music I’m not focusing on anything else and it’s a great way to destress after a long day. I always knew I wanted to be a professional musician someday, but I didn’t know how to get there.
Q. What has been your journey like to make music your career?
A. I developed a rigid release schedule for my tracks. I want to get my voice and my musical style out there, and the best way to do that is to release lots of music. I post all my stuff on streaming services like Apple Music, Spotify, and Soundcloud, and I’ve made a significant impact on these platforms. My newest song, DOORDASH, has already amassed 500k streams on Soundcloud and nearly 100k on Spotify.
Q.What are you focusing your time on now?
A. Right now I am focused on my debut studio album. I just released my debut mixtape, but I want to work on something more serious. I’m putting a lot of time and effort into my album because I want it to be great for my fans. I’m definitely going to be having some tracks with vocals and some without to showcase my production abilities too.
