INTERVIEW: Bentley Record’s Artist Real Talk The Metaphor Messiah Talks ‘My Dreams & Nightmares’ & Upcoming New Music

Hi Real Talk (The Metaphor Messiah)! How are you?

Yoooo. I am great and blessed.

Where are you from?

I am from the south side of Chicago, Illinois. But, shout-out to Las Vegas, my second home.

What is your greatest inspiration for your music?

I would say my biggest inspiration for my music would be seeing so many people in my life have dreams but fall short of achieving them. Hearing of their missed opportunities and things they have let come in between their dreams is my motivation to keep pushing my music every day.

What are 3 words that describe your music?

Real, motivational, and relatable. My days-ones came up with ‘Real Talk’ from the topics I cover in my songs. My message speaks of positivity and to push through hard times. And relatable because I write my music about the things I have been surrounded by or have dealt with first-hand.

What is the hardest subject you’ve ever written about?

The hardest subject I have ever had to write, and record was when I told my fans about my health issues. I have had issues with my eyes as well as my kidneys. It’s hard to rap about something so personal and private and feel like all your weaknesses are exposed.

What are the challenges of being an artist?

Getting your music heard by new people and hoping you have enough to keep them as fans is quite challenging. The fear of not having enough funds to support your music is also difficult. But, you hope with a little bit of skill and luck that doors continue to open.

Are you planning on releasing new music soon?

Yes. I have a new song coming out this summer titled ‘Still The King’. The song is about me letting people know no matter how much popularity I gain, I am still the same determined and hungry musician, that is not to be messed with. Also, earlier this year I released an EP titled ‘My Dreams & Nightmares’. It is available on all major music platforms.
