Survival Clothing & Footwear Founders Share Their Journey

Founded in 2016, Survival Clothing & Footwear stands out as the go-to fashion brand in the US. The company was established by two passionate fashion enthusiasts, Manny Garcia and Gregory Morales. The pair were driven by the desire to share their love and love for fashion with the rest of the world. Even as young kids, they were always the best dressed in school and set themselves apart with their sneakers and outfits. Their passion grew into a hustle that eventually led to the establishment of the brand, Survival Clothing & Footwear. Manny and Gregory drew lots of inspiration from the 90’s Hip-Hop culture reflected in the sneakers and fashion trends.

However, getting started in any business is never easy. Manny and Gregory’s journey to success faced many challenges, but following the principle of the word “success”, they overcame their obstacles by remaining focused on their ultimate goal. They were also driven by a desire to create a community and be positive leaders and role models by using fashion as a voice to motivate the youth and inspire others.

Their biggest hurdle was overcoming the Covid pandemic and ever-changing trends in fashion and logistics, politics, and supply chains. With the right team, determination, and ambition, Survival reached new heights never imagined and it continues to strive for higher.

“The Brand, Survival, was born. A true testament: When you stick to your vision over time, success will follow. There are no handouts in this competitive industry. Our unique eye and ear to the street quickly propelled Survival to the forefront of Streetwear’s Elite, capturing a new perspective in retail and design that was very much lacking in the menswear/streetwear market in South Florida,” reads the website.

Today, Survival Clothing & Footwear is quickly emerging, taking over the US fashion industry. They have grown and scaled with four fully-operational retail stores in South Florida and an e-commerce platform. They also established several in-house brands, most notably Paradise Lost, THRT Denim, and Yesterday is Dead.

Remarkably, Survival Clothing & Footwear not only found a way to continue breaking trends and bring awareness to the community but also to lead their industry in product development by offering wholesale for their in-house brands to over 500 stores/boutiques worldwide. Additionally, Survival Clothing & Footwear prides itself on being self-made and creating generational wealth. The company looks to inspire and educate the youth and be positive examples to pave the way for more successful minorities in the community. The key is not only to survive but strive and prosper. Survival Clothing & Footwear’s mission is to expand its retail stores to other states and new locations in Miami, eventually expanding globally outside the US. Europe, Japan, and Dubai remain among their top-target markets as they aspire to launch more in-house brands and expand the wholesale side of their business.
