We all have a nostalgic mood and love for Tenor or Soprano music. The world has seen some remarkable artists in these genres, including Linda Ronstadt, Kate Bush, George Michael, Steve Perry, and my personal favorite, Freddie Mercury. These artists have all made significant contributions to this genre during the span of their careers.
As part of a world full of art and music, there is a name in the world of African Soprano Music Charts that is rising rapidly. This name is gaining popularity all over the world. YES, you guessed it right. I’m referring to Titi Dama, the talented soprano artist from the Cameroon community.
Titi Dama, also known as Priskeylia Tifu Dama, is a well-known businesswoman, philanthropist, and singer who is renowned for her soprano tenor voice.
Interestingly, Titi Dama was born in a small town called Santa located in the State Of Ambazonia also called Southern Cameroon, She is the youngest of eight siblings.
Titi has been a passionate fan of gospel, Afropop, Salsa, Bongo, classical, and Afrobeats since her childhood. Swimming watching movies, playing volleyball, and taking trips on vacations are some of her favorite hobbies.
She attended Cameroon Protestant College for her high school years. She then continued her studies at the Academic Institute of Excellence in Midrand, South Africa, where she majored in Business Administration.
In an Interview with Local News Network, talking about her work experience she added, “My work experience starts from Presbyterian Hospital in Mamfe, Cameroon, but I have also worked at Leonardo Jewelry Hilton Hotel, Sandton, South Africa.”
Additionally, she said when asked about her entrepreneurial journey, “I am a beauty therapist, so I started a company called Brighttiss focused on beauty products around the region, which has more than 20 active products.” Titi Dama created Gifted Groups, one of the fastest-growing online communities in Cameroon.
However, her immense love for music won over all her other talents. In the same interview when asked about her initial music career she said “Growing up in a small town community I have been singing since i was 8 years old. In my secondary school choir, I took part in a cover performance of “Mystic Eyes” by a vintage band called “Them”. Everyone loved my performance. I further took the opportunity to introduce herself to the local community`s church choir and BOOM! I became very popular all over the town. People used to invite me to sing at small parties, gatherings, and functions, and I really enjoyed enhancing my talents and taking full advantage of all the opportunities.”
Seeing the growing fanbase in the community Titi started taking her music career seriously and started posting songs covers on her Instagram where a huge audience from all around the world also liked her talent which aroused her interest to record, produce and release her own music albums and songs.
Titi Dama finds music as a very effective way to communicate with the masses and convey her thoughts through the lyrics. She further revealed her upcoming album lyrics are based on love, pain, and resilience as we`ve already witnessed in her recently released single “Gonna Make it” on September 5th 2022. Lyrics are highly targeted to the young generation as an inspiration to dream for a better tomorrow.

In an interview with another local Television Network, Titi Dama credited her school and the local church for playing a major role in helping her discover her talent. They gave her a chance to sing in the choirs. This is what shaped her into who she is today. Ideally, there are many artists in the African music industry who inspire her such as Mbosso of Tanzania, Flavour and Mercy Chinwo of Nigeria, and Diamond Platnumz of Tanzania. She would love to work with them at some point in her career.
