Rene Alvarado, better known as FACEvsIT was born in the heart of Los Angeles to a family from Ecuador. FACEvsIT got his first love for music came from his family parties. He was exposed to music and dancing as a child including salsa, merengue, cumbia, and listening to Ecuadorian music. As he grew up, he was introduced to music in the Los Angeles scene which included Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Eazy E, and NWA. Through these musical interests, he was able to narrow down inspiration to the poetic genius Tupac. He now is able to take in the many different influences of sound he has had and create his own unique style of music. He is currently partnered with Merchan Media Productions with his company MMUpClan LLC and they currently act as his label. FACEvsIT has also produced his own music in the past but currently is working with multiple producers. On some of his most popular projects he worked with THXbeats, KT the Terrible, Christian Ford, New Sean, and a few others.
FACEvsIT has had many great achievements in his time as an artist including touring Europe and performing all over the United States. He has performed in the grand park in downtown Los Angeles alongside the subsuelo crew’s Dj Ethos in front of thousands of fans. He has gotten to see the world through hip hop which has made FACEvsIT have a very different sound from other rappers in his area. FACEvsIT has recently released his first solo album titled “3FAC3S” which includes 9 tracks. The name of this album comes from the Japanese proverb “they say you have three faces. The first face you show to the world, the second face you show to your close friends and family, and the third face you never show to anyone. This is the truest reflection of who you are.” This project is based on showing all the different levels of who he is and exposing all three of his faces.
