For Flowzy Flowz, returning to music meant taking another look at a passion that had remained part of his life even while other priorities took center stage. Having spent years honing his craft in the underground hip-hop scene, the Texas-based artist took a break from music in favor of business ventures and other non-music-related activities. “I’ve spent years developing myself as an artist, gaining experience, and pursuing other business opportunities,” Flowzy Flowz explains. “I believe everything I’ve experienced has helped shape the artist I am today.”

Prior to stepping away from music, Flowzy Flowz spent much of his undergraduate years building a name for himself. It meant that he had time to gather experience that would help him in the future when he eventually returned to music. By the time he decided to put his attention back into hip-hop, he had a stronger appreciation for the creative and professional responsibilities involved in building a career.

The self-titled EP brings those experiences together under a name that represents both the artist and the brand he intends to develop. Across the project, Flowzy Flowz wanted to communicate his lyrical versatility, distinctive rap voice, and willingness to explore different subjects and moods.
He describes his musical approach as a combination of storytelling, street-inspired energy, and ambition. His delivery is another important part of his identity, something he hopes listeners will come to recognize even before identifying a particular song.
The influence of Texas hip-hop also remains part of his musical foundation. Based in a state with a long-standing hip-hop tradition, he draws inspiration from the originality and regional identity established by artists who helped shape the culture. Houston’s musical history, in particular, has reinforced his desire to develop a sound that reflects his own experiences rather than imitate someone else’s formula.
