Appearing off of a year-long pause from the release of his last album Montana, French Montana returns with the surprising drop of his new project Coke Boys 5 on November 20, 2020. Having already solidified himself as the No. 1 Coke Boy through multiple occasions he looks to prove himself once again with the deliverance of his 19 song album, “CB5.” Even while coming practically six years after publicising the fourth portion, “CB4,” he wisely used his time to assemble the long awaited album with well-known artists, appearing from all genres.
Exhibiting a plethora of sounds with the utilization of features from all different styles, French dug into the new generation to experiment with the new vibe in the rap industry. Totaling up to 27 features, his project can comfortably be enjoyed by individuals of diverse musical pallets. To name a few, appearances from Lil Mosey, Drake, Jack Harlow, Post Malone, Lil Durk, and plenty more are helping give French Montana the boost he craves to once again hit the charts.
Previously having all his songs released from Bad Boy Records he was recently removed from the association according to reasons he has not yet spoken upon. With this happening before the drop of Coke Boys 5 the album was planned to be an individual project, but was ultimately released by Empire. Also being unveiled through Empire the deluxe version comes with an extra five singles, all being individually done with no added features.
Incorporating more than enough various sound compilations and features, “Double G” (feat. Pop Smoke), would grace the ears of his fans and appear as the most popular song from his project thus far. The single is featured on multiple playlists throughout all streaming platforms, such as Rap Caviar on Spotify and Hip-Hop Hottest Tracks on Apple Music. I believe it’s safe to say that French Montana has added yet another solid addition to The Coke Boys sequence, while not yet indicating that this will be the final chapter.
