Benjamin Filiatrault, known by his artistic name “Papiben,” has become a household name in the world of fashion and modeling. The current Mister Global Canada, Papiben has become a symbol of empowerment, creativity, and positivity. His efforts in raising awareness about the struggles of marginalized communities have led him to become a sought-after speaker and ambassador for the Mister Global organization. Beyond his advocacy work, Papiben’s modeling career has taken him to new heights, and he continues to be a trailblazer in the industry.
How did you feel when you won the title of Mister Global Canada, and what inspired you to enter the competition in the first place?
Winning Mister Global Canada gave me a unique opportunity to use my platform to promote the importance of assisting underrepresented populations and producing relevant content through Visually Impactful. Although it was hard to get selected, I am proud that I was able to use this platform to bring attention to important issues and inspire positive change through my artistic pursuits.
Can you tell us a bit about your experience competing at the Mister Global pageant, and what it was like to represent Canada on the global stage?
Competing at the Mister Global pageant was an amazing experience. Being able to represent Canada on a global stage and share my passion for promoting social change was truly an honor. I had the opportunity to explore and experience a new city, meet people from different backgrounds, and connect with the local community. Shooting for the competition and connecting with others was very comfortable for me, as it’s something I do regularly in my modeling career. It was a great opportunity to learn about different cultures, and I feel fortunate to have had this experience to represent my country and showcase my talents on an international level.
As Mister Global Canada, what are some of the causes and issues that you are most passionate about, and how are you using your platform to raise awareness and promote positive change?
I am particularly passionate about promoting the voices and rights of First Nations peoples in Canada. I strongly believe that we need to take steps towards reconciliation and ensure that their stories and perspectives are heard and respected. Through my platform, I have also been promoting the work of Visually Impactful, my non-profit organization that uses art to bring attention to important social and political issues. By using my position as Mister Global Canada and my passion for art and storytelling, I am striving to raise awareness and promote positive change in Canada and beyond.
How has your modeling career contributed to your success as Mister Global Canada, and what are some of the most important lessons you’ve learned as a model?
My modeling career has definitely contributed to my success. My experience in the modeling industry has allowed me to hone my skills in communication, confidence, and public speaking, which are all critical components of being a successful pageant winner.
Additionally, my travels and exposure to different cultures have given me a unique perspective on fashion and style, which I have incorporated into my pageant performances and presentations. My work with international brands has also given me a platform to raise awareness for various social and environmental causes. Overall, my modeling career has taught me the importance of hard work, dedication, and a positive attitude, which I apply to my duties as Mister Global Canada.
What do you think sets you apart from other models and pageant contestants, and what do you believe are your strongest qualities as a model and as a person?
As a model and pageant contestant, my background in the technological sector sets me apart from others in the industry. My innovative ideas and ability to navigate the tech world has given me a unique perspective and approach to my work in modeling and pageantry. Additionally, my experiences in business and consulting have helped me develop strong
leadership and communication skills, which are essential in representing Canada on a global stage. Overall, I believe my diverse background and skill set have allowed me to bring a fresh perspective and approach to modeling and pageantry, making me a strong and unique candidate in the industry.
What advice would you give to aspiring models and pageant contestants who are just starting out in their careers?
My advice to aspiring models and pageant contestants who are just starting out in their careers is to work hard, stay focused, and never give up on your dreams. It’s essential to be passionate about what you do and always strive to improve your skills. Be confident, but also humble and willing to learn from others. It’s important to take care of yourself both physically and mentally to maintain a positive attitude and radiate confidence in front of the camera.
Also, be prepared to face rejections and learn from them to grow and succeed. Lastly, use your unique perspective and style to create an impact and leave a mark in the industry.
What are some of your future plans and aspirations, both in terms of modeling and your work as Mister Global Canada?
my future plans are to continue collaborating with international brands and creating visually impactful content that promotes positive change. I believe that modeling provides a platform to inspire others and raise awareness about important causes. Additionally, I am currently in negotiations to acquire a magazine called Gentsocean. My ultimate goal is to use my platform to make a positive impact in the world and to inspire others to do the same. I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and can’t wait to see where this journey takes me.

I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your love and support have been a constant source of inspiration for me.
