We got the opportunity to interview upcoming musician Sharmila. Check out our conversation below:
How did you get your start in music?
“In my childhood i was always busy listening to music and dancing everyday until I couldn´t stop, I also took dancelessons for 8 years. Later in life I started writing my own songs and took vocal lessons.”
How would you describe the music that you create?
“Pop music but the music style can change, it depends on the type of song I wrote.”
What is your creative process typically like when making new music?
“Lyrics often pop up in my mind along with a melody and then I write it down into a song.”
What makes you stand out as a musician?
“My musical journey took me from dancing everyday to writing my own songs to opening for boyband O-Town in 2018 in the U.S. I´m basically myself and I often write about my own life experiences.”
What’s up next for you? Any new projects?
“At the moment I´m going through a difficult time as I recently lost my 25 year old daughter Tanisha. We´ve been sick from drinking unsafe tap water in Holland and she died on April 3. My 2nd album ´DNA Damage´ is coming up. I also wrote songs about my daughter Tanisha, which is coming up too.”
