Kevin Adler Speaks on the Spirit of Collaboration and the Feeling of Inspiration as a Tool

“I fell in love with hip-hop music as a whole because of the freedom it gave me to express myself creatively.” Inspired by the likes of Mac Miller and Kid Cudi, rising New York rapper Kevin Adler has spent the majority of his life trying to find and perfect his voice in the music world. Writing his first song at the age of 13, Adler carried his passion for creating music with him throughout high school and into college. Keeping his music to himself during that time, it wasn’t until his senior year of college in 2018 that Adler decided to release his music to the world. Now, with dozens of singles and collaborations under his belt, and as his breakout hit “Met You” nears one million streams on Spotify, Kevin Adler is simply looking for more ways to inspire listeners with his music.

Born in Highland Mills, New York, and now repping the East Village, Adler has used the melting pot of musical talent in New York City to form relationships and expand his own musical desires. Throughout his three-year professional music career, Adler has worked with a variety of artists including the EDM project RVYN, a duo that includes a person Adler has known for quite some time. “I work with a wide variety of producers, and quite often one of those producers is my little brother actually,” Adler says of working with RVYN. Furthering his spirit of collaboration, Adler is currently prepping the release of his new track “One Day”, which is set to feature the popular independent Nashville rapper Abstract.

Most importantly for Adler, though, beyond the spirit of collaboration and the success he is finding at this point in his career, is the ability his music has to affect people. “I hope my listeners can find something to relate to in my lyrics,” Adler shares. “My music spans various topics so I feel like there is something for everyone.” Inspiration from the artists he looked up to was vital for Adler in finding himself as an artist, and he is aiming to invoke that same feeling with his music.
