Expressing one’s feelings has always been a tough job for many despite having adequate confidence. It always seems too much when trying to express one’s inner feelings or explain the intricacies being stirred up within a person’s mind. The fear of being judged or shamed for having diverse thoughts and feelings plays a more fundamental part in suppressing themselves.
However, over the years, people have found more courage and various other forms of expressing themselves. It is also observed that miscellaneous thoughts boggling in a person’s mind give birth to a more creative individual, as all these thoughts convince a person to fashion masterpieces never witnessed before.
Nevertheless, artists of all domains are not given the same amount of appreciation as they tend to receive because of their explicit talent. Artists have the nerve to use their cruel situations as a means to produce content that leaves the spectators in total surprise. Acknowledging the brutal reality of present times especially, Kristie Kim, a South Korean artist, and entrepreneur known for her exceptional contributions to the arts and entertainment industry, has introduced a multimedia business with the sole purpose of promoting the unique talent possessed by artists around the region. As the founder of Kristie Kim Design, established in Los Angeles on July 18, 2015, she has played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of multimedia business.
Kim embarked on her artistic journey by earning a Bachelor of Arts in Design Studies with a minor in Art and Design from North Carolina State University. Her outstanding achievements were highlighted when she earned a full-ride Pack Promise Scholarship during her tenure at the university. Building on this foundation, she pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration at the renowned ArtCenter College of Design, graduating in 2018. Kim’s commitment to excellence was evident in the numerous stipends and grants, totaling over $15,000, that she garnered during her time at the ArtCenter College of Design.
In 2023, Kim continued her educational pursuits by obtaining a Master of Liberal Arts in Management from Harvard University. Prior to this, she completed a certification from Harvard Business School Online’s CORe program in November 2020. Additionally, she earned Graduate Certificates in Business Communications in 2021 and Strategic Management in 2023 from Harvard University. Kim initially worked as an intern at Disney, but her trajectory as an artist and entrepreneur took a significant turn with the establishment of Kristie Kim Design. Certified by Community Business Enterprise for Women and Minority Business Enterprise programs by Los Angeles County, her multimedia business serves as a platform for promoting unique graphic designs and authentic art, engaging in entertainment arts marketing.
Kim, born to Young Kim and Soon Kim, also finds joy in creating content for platforms like YouTube and other social media channels. Currently residing and working in Los Angeles, Kim’s artistic endeavors continue to captivate audiences, maintaining her prominent influence in the field of arts and entertainment.
Kim’s artistic prowess received early recognition through her participation in the U.S. Capitol Cannon Pedestrian Tunnel exhibit from May 2010 to May 2011. This exhibition followed her victory in the 2010 Congressional Art Show, where her tempera painting titled The Chase secured first place. A significant milestone in Kim’s career was her illustration work for the book Writers of the Future Volume 30, published by Author Services and Galaxy Press in 2014. Winning first place in the L. Ron Hubbard International Illustrators of the Future Contest in June 2013, she was subsequently invited to Hollywood, California, to collaborate with professional illustrators, directors, and publishers at Author Services and Galaxy Press in April 2014.
Kim’s dedication to her craft was further emphasized by her inclusion in the Dean’s List at North Carolina State University. She has received various awards, including the NC Arts Student Art Purchase, the 2010 Presidential Volunteer Gold Service Award, and the North Carolina Action Young Peacemakers Award, all highlighting her commitment to artistic excellence and positive community impact.
