Following his return to instagram this past weekend Lil Durk previewed his new song, “Backdoor” only hours before releasing it to his fans. The single dropped on Monday December 21, 2020 accompanied by its own music video. In which Lil Durk pays tribute to his late friend, King Von, by wearing his notorious O’Block chain and being surrounded by mutual close ones.

The visuals for the track consists of only Durk’s most trusted and closest partners, only a few people to say the least. On top of Vons chain he was wearing several more along with his crew who also had on O’Block chains and were being taken care of by Durkio. This is happening all while counting up their money and turning up in front of multiple expensive vehicles. The video was released at the same time as the song and can be found only on Lil Durk’s youtube channel.

After having a rough couple of months, Lil Durk took a short break from social media in order to heal from the shocking and most devastating passing of ‘his twin.’ To make his return, Durk immediately snapped back with his first post being a preview of “Backdoor,” along with the caption: “#DOIT4VON.” This would soon be followed by another post, establishing the official release of the new song and video, taking place at midnight on Monday. In the song he refers back to a time when he was younger and brings attention to the struggles he encountered when he was on the street.

All of this followed his fifth album release “Just Cause Y’all Waited 2” in May of 2020 while reaching number five on the US Billboard 200 chart. Durk has hinted numerous times that he is looking to release his new studio album titled “The Voice,” much sooner rather than later.
