RedrumSociety is an indie rock band currently located in South Florida who was for a long time based out of Los Angeles, California. They began their music journey in 2008 with writing and performing hits. Their journey came to a halt when band members went through struggles with sobriety. Zach Cohen, guitarist, and frontman of the band had a long struggle with sobriety and addiction to drugs and alcohol. He was able to reclaim his sobriety in July of 2016 and has maintained it since then. His return to sobriety helped the RedrumSociety make a return to music. In 2018, the band rejoined to start making music again. Zach Cohen helps write the songs as he has been a songwriter and guitarist since age 14. He and his bandmates work to make music their fans can relate to. This is shown through their newest release “It’s Too Late” which was released November 19th. This song depicts the ever-present relationship struggle about the chase of a girl who doesn’t show interest until after they have moved on. This and many other songs speak to relatable struggles that help their fans connect to their music. They draw inspiration from the music of talented artists such as Hank Williams Sr, Lou Reed, Dion, Parliament Funkadelic, Bob Dylan, and Robert Johnson. Their music is composed of dark lyrics juxtaposed against upbeat music. This allows for a connection to be made to the lyrics while enjoyment can be made from the beat. They are currently independent and work with Sejo Nevajas at 4th Street Recording to help produce their hits. Be on the lookout for more music coming soon from this up-and-coming band.
