Coming from Georgetown, a small town in Guyana, Shawn2Hot was on a journey that many may deem impossible. For a child to have grown up in poverty and surrounded by violence, it is hard to wash away the stain these grim events leave on you. Shawn Hall, aka, Shawn2hot, was a tough nut. Although his childhood was anything but motivating, he still found inspiration within those gloomy walls. He surfed through numerous genres of music, but nothing tugged at his heartstrings like hip hop. Later, when he heard Snoop Dog’s album, Doggy Style, it was like adding fuel to the fire already burning for hip hop.
He migrated to the USA at 16 and, after some time, started experimenting with beats that later got him involved with audio production. Having acquired that skill on his own, Shawn2hot realized that he could compile both this and his fascination for hip hop to form his own career in music. That is when his journey to make a name for himself in the regime of hip hop started. Although he had no professional music degree or a worthy musical background, it did not stop him.
Shawn2hot’s success is hugely entitled to his belief in himself. Even when many huge labels rejected his work or refused to work with him, Shawn2hot was the least bit discouraged. Although the harsh feedback was disappointing, it was not powerful enough to diminish his self-confidence. At an early age, Shawn2hot had learned that your perception and thoughts will shape your future. What you think about today will determine what you are tomorrow. As a result, Shawn2hot refused to give up on his work. Instead, he set out to develop his own record label, Volcano Music Group, to make his music reach the audience and help other musicians like him do the same.
After a bow-worthy success of six of his singles produced under his label, Shawn2hot is all set to reveal his first album to his followers. His first album, Volcano Music Vol. 1, will be released on the 27th of May and is expected to add a new flavor to hip hop. Shawn2hot’s fans are already eagerly waiting for the much-anticipated album. But apart from the stardom, this album is extremely important to Shawn2hot for other reasons as well. Not only will it be a stepping stone in his career it is also his blood, sweat, and tears that are about to be made public.
One thing is obvious. Shawn2hot is definitely not going to stop here. This is just the start for him. His vision extends to making Volcano Music Group a household name in the music industry. Furthermore, he believes significantly in giving back and really wants to help with artist development. Of course, that would not be an easy task. But for Shawn2hot, easy has never been interesting. No matter how challenging his circumstances may appear, he approaches them with the mind of a conqueror.
