INTERVIEW: Young Nate Talks Background & New Single ‘Loser Lover’

Hailing from Bridgeport, Connecticut, rising artist Young Nate made is return to the Spotlight with this new single ‘Loser Lover’. We got the chance to catch up with the rockstar post release. Check out the interview below:

Where are you from? 

“I’m from Bridgeport Connecticut.”

What first got you into music? 

“I grew up in the church, so my mother was always in the choir. I was in the children’s choir when I was younger. So music was always in my life for as long as I can remember.”

Who inspired you to make music? 

“I grew up listening to a lot of Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Michael Jackson and always felt like I could be as big as them one day.” 

How would you describe the music that you typically create? 

“Melodic, unique and catchy songs.”

What is your creative process like? 

“I make a song based on whatever I’m feeling or whatever I felt in the past.”

Who would you most like to collaborate with? 

“Either Future or Thug.” 

What is one message you would give to your fans? 

“Trust the process, because the journey is the best part.” 

What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career? 

“Working a 9/5 or school.”

Where have you performed? What are your favourite and least favourite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows? 

“I’ve only done two shows so far and they both have been great. But, I definitely liked the show we had at “The Webster” the most. The crowd was insane.”

How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business? 

“People have been reposting my songs for the longest on their snap and instagram stories. So the internet has been one of the main reasons why my songs even get heard. I am forever thankful for the internet.” 

What is the best advice you’ve been given? 

“The best advice I’ve been given is to never get too comfortable. That can go for anything whether its relationships, jobs, even some friendships. Things change, that’s just how life is sometimes.”

Talk about your latest single “Loser Lover”?

“A loser Lover is a person who is an outcast, but also has a good heart with pure intentions. I’ve always been different and ahead of my time when it came to certain things. All my brothers are on the same thing as well. So I just expanded the meaning and threw it into a song.”
