Growing up in America as an immigrant can be a daunting experience. Those who have experienced it know what pitfalls and struggles come under these circumstances. Unfortunately, discrimination and racism are common factors in this situation. Actor and musician Bryan Arion endured through these very struggles but turned his weakness into strengths.
Bryan comes from the mountains state of Guerrero, in Mexico. It is one of the most dangerous and violent places in the country and is renowned for cartel activity. Bryan’s family had been victims of this environment, but when Bryan was five, he and his mother immigrated to North Carolina. He attributes his success in life to the support of his mother and grandmother.
As a teenager, Bryan learned how to play the guitar and piano. He also spent a significant amount of time learning the theater and performing in plays, which later helped him advance in his career. To defend himself against the bullies and racism he experienced, Bryan trained heavily in Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai, which became his second passion.
Since starting his professional career, Bryan has appeared in various music videos, commercials, and TV shows, including a commercial for ‘5 Gum’,and shows ‘Days of our Lives’ ‘The Last Ship’, and ‘Selena: The Series’ on Netflix and has several other projects in the pipeline. While struggle has been a large part of Bryan’s life, the lessons he learned helped him overcome many obstacles and achieve his dreams. Coming from a third world country, establishing a career in the entertainment industry was a huge accomplishment, especially when all of the odds were stacked against his favor.
Bryan hopes to delve into movie production and looks forward to making a movie about his grandmother’s life to showcase her story to the world. He advises others to learn from his experiences and understand that anyone can succeed if they have the courage to face their challenges and pursue their dreams and passions, no matter where they come from.
