Hip-hop is one of the fastest-growing music genres in the world. Originally from the US, hip-hop has spread to almost every part of the world. Many artists from different regions across the world are coming up to showcase their rap talent and abilities. It’s even more refreshing to see some hip-hop minority groups like the Asian community producing great rap names such as Question.
Formally known as Gabriel Cabaneros, Question is an up-and-coming artist taking the industry by storm. He is a unique rapper with unmatched rap abilities that set him ahead of his peers. Some of Question’s releases, such as “White Maserati” and “Alone,” are doing exceptionally well, gathering thousands of streams across various platforms. His innate rap talent has also seen him amass a fast-growing fan base across the world from Asia and Europe to North America.
Originally from Canada, Question has risen against all odds to become a perfect pop and hip-hop star for the American industry. He started making music in 2007 at a young age. His parents’ basement was his ideal spot to hang out with his young brother making music. Question’s passion for music drove him to pursue it as a career, and he is proving to be up to the task.
A highly versatile rapper, Question is diverse with the type of music he makes. He loves to make music that many will find easily resonates with them, drawing inspiration from various topics.
“I love creating music that people can relate to, whether it’s about their girl situation, dreams, or things that they like. I enjoy creating what makes me feel good and others feel good. I love creating quality music,” explains Question.
Creating a successful career in music can be challenging, and Question has experienced this first-hand. Though he has faced a set of different challenges, Question says that his most significant obstacles originate with him being an Asian artist in the music scene. He feels like it’s harder for Asian artists to break out into the music industry at times. It’s even tougher for an Asian rapper, as hip-hop might not be so widely celebrated in Asian culture. All the same, Question also feels this is rapidly changing with society accepting more Asians not only into the hip-hop scene but also the music industry.
In a few years, Question sees himself touring the world and showcasing his creativity through music. He believes that he will be in a great position to help others in life through his music. Question dreams of having his music played worldwide and having a solid fan base all across the world.
“I want to share with others that there’s always light at the end of the tunnel. If you believe in your vision and creativity, you should never stop. Stopping is the only reason you won’t make it or feel fulfilled in your craft. Staying true to yourself and being consistent is the best recipe to achieve anything in life.” adds Question.
