A DJ is often regarded as the heart and soul of a party. The DJ makes the crowd groove and ensures no one leaves the floor while the music is playing. They build a relationship with the crowd in a club to read their mood and preferences. Modern DJing is not just about music mixing. A DJ has to be a complete package where they can perform and entertain. Nicky Rizz is one such example setting the trends in modern DJing with his music and electrifying stage presence. He belongs to a new breed of music artists who don’t hesitate to go against the crowd to experiment with their skills. This is where Nicky Rizz has managed to set himself apart from most of his contemporaries.
Nicky Rizz discovered his passion for DJing when he was just a kid. While on a cruise, he had the pleasure of watching a live DJ performance that blew him away. This inspired him to follow in those footsteps, and one day become a DJ himself. Nicky’s dreams found wings when he was selected to be a part of the world-famous DJ crew Hard Hitters, in 2019. Since then, it was like a snowball effect for Nicky.
Nicky became a well-known name in the DJ space across major cities like Miami, New York City, New Jersey, and Las Vegas within a couple of years. He even got the opportunity to perform at the most popular music shows in the country like Bounce NYC, Headliners NJ, Hard Rock Las Vegas, Wall Miami, and Society NJ, to name a few. Nicky also got to play on the biggest radio station in NYC, Hot 97 FM, twice. After the overwhelming response of this first performance on New Year’s eve 2021, he was roped in again to play on Memorial Day Weekend. a feat achieved by only a few of his contemporaries at this young age.
Just when Nicky was experiencing rising momentum in his career, he felt the worst setback during the pandemic lockdown. With social distancing becoming the new normal, clubs were shut down, and live shows were postponed. This was when Nicky felt the dire need to connect with his fans. He found a way through music by releasing his debut single “Ay Papi” in 2020. The single is an energetic party track composed to bring back the party flavor at home. After the roaring success of “Ay Papi,” Nicky followed the trend and released his next single, “Ay Mami,” in 2021.
Both Nicky’s party numbers were based on ‘Guaracha,’ a unique musical genre from Cuba that is extremely popular in Latin America. To replicate the success of his first two songs, Nicky is now working on a third, but he hasn’t disclosed much about it. His third single is expected to be another party number that will be a wake-up call for partygoers and clubbers as some clubs are already reopening across the U.S.
Nicky feels he is just at the beginning of his career and has a way to go to entertain his fans. He wants to continue connecting people with his music and bring party culture back to life after the long break.
