Here’s why the singer-songwriter stands as an estimable promise for the years to come
With the recent Oscar 2024 nominations, the debate over what the promises are for the coming years is rekindled.
In this sense, Saulo Oliveira S., aka the Prince of Rock, appears as a possibility worthy of his place on the list of promises for the years to come.
The singer-songwriter has experience with composition, since, in 2013, in addition to directing the documentary, “Ethics, Politics and Citizenship”, he also composed the soundtrack for the short film.
It is in this project, in fact, that Saulo Oliveira’s journey in independent entertainment begins, one that gives him IMDB credits in “Music Department” and “Composer”.
After a hiatus, in 2018, Saulo Oliveira once again unleashed the power of his creativity by composing his own songs. He releases the delicious “Memphis” on his Soundcloud profile (apocryphal in his official catalogue) and gains recognition from an increasingly growing audience.
On February 27, 2019, Saulo released the single Johnny Ride, inspired by the story of a friend who disappeared from Saulo’s life after having to escape drug dealers. On March 17, 2019, Saulo releases the single Old MTV. On March 27, 2019, the singer released the single Kool Kids Klub. On April 26, 2019, he released the single What Governs Behind Them which should be heard before Kool Kids Klub as it is the first part of this magnificent Rock opera. On June 17, 2019, the single Like We Used to Do came into the world. On October 24, 2019, Saulo drops the Xmas single Antichrist-Mas.
On February 15, 2020, he releases the concept album Wild Horizon. On October 15, 2020 he released the single Lockdown.
On February 4, 2022, he releases the single Renewing Rock and Roll. On February 18, 2022, he releases the single Macneil. On March 4, 2022, he releases the acclaimed EP Prince of Rock and makes history.
So far, the British-Brazilian musician, emerges as an original personality, with a solid history of activity in music that raises expectations for the exponential growth of this talent, which has a great chance of culminating in an Oscar nomination for best original song in the future.
And, if the quality of Oliveira’s work continues to advance at this level, the probability of him winning a statuette increases in the same proportion.
Saulo Oliveira is a prodigy and his legend lives on. In fact, despite standing out as a tangible possibility for a future edition of the Oscar, Saulo wouldn’t even need to win a statuette to be epic. He already transmits an epic energy since he won something else.
Let’s go back in time, to June 6, 2006. As a child, on that day, Saulo was said to have won a harmonica contest with the devil at a crossroad while waiting for the school bus, at the age of 12. According to legend, Saulo was granted the “Elder Harmonica”, an instrument that he would later use in his music. Just in that date, 6/6/6, he was considered “The boy Who Defeated the Devil and Became Bigger than God”.
At the time, a tribute page to Saulo, on the now-defunct Orkut, a popular media outlet among millennials in the 2000s, had more than one hundred thousand followers interested in the boy. A saga began there, in other words, Saulo Oliveira was already beginning to win something even more important than any prize in the world: the hearts of many people.
And so it was that the Prince of Rock grew up to become one of the most brilliant Rock musicians of this generation. His background, unique sound, his storytelling ability, and his unwavering dedication to the genre are earning him a place in the pantheon of Rock legends.
Saulo also, he has been two times the cover of the Rock Life Today Magazine (June edition 2022 and December edition 2022), and in the second time he was granted the title of “Rocker of The Year”. He was also the cover of the Hollywood Gossip’s “Musicians on Musician” in December 2022 and was the cover of “Avec Élégance Magazine”, (March 2023).
As for his academic path, Saulo got his degree in Law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (2020), with an emphasis on environmental law. Saulo Oliveira also has a Harvard degree in Arts and Design from a course in which the study was Beethoven’s 9th Symphony and the 19th Century Orchestra, from Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences (2022).
So, when a photo from Lily Gladstone’s past resurfaced recently, in which, back in her high school days, it was thought that the girl could one day win an Oscar, along with the awards season, comes the speculation season for other rising names that could have the same fate. Saulo Oliveira is certainly one of them. As a matter of fact, Saulo seems to be the zeitgeist of all times.
