serpentwithfeet has been deeply exploring the sweeter side of life and of love with his recent releases. That sentiment is yet again at full force with the release of his new single “Same Size Shoes”.
The Brooklyn singer/songwriter, born Josiah Wise, explores and revels in the conveniences that come along with finding true love. In a statement about his own dating life, he shared, “I prefer to date and love on Black men.” He continued, “I don’t want to be with anyone who can’t go to my barber or walk a mile in my shoes.”
In January, serpentwithfeet announced the release date for his upcoming sophomore effort DEACON. Accompanying the announcement was the release of its first single, “Fellowship”. If the album’s first two singles can serve as any preface as to where he is mentally, and which direction he is going to take DEACON, it seems a safe bet that the album will be one of elation, passion, and gratitude for romance.
Following up his 2018 debut LP soil, serpentwithfeet’s DEACON is set for release on March 26th via Secretly Canadian. You can pre-order the album here and listen to “Same Size Shoes” below.
