THE CJ is a singer, artist, and musician from Great Falls, Montana. They hit the music scene hard last year, immediately charting and getting TV news attention with their single, “Don’t Lose Yourself”. As of recent, THE CJ has been hard at work in the studio building a catalog of over 20 songs. “Get Absolutely Fucked” is their next single that just dropped. With a rebellious and daring blend of alternative rock and pop, along with motivational lyrical content, “Get Absolutely Fucked” is a hypetrain of alternative, gothic bliss. This is one of many original singles THE CJ has in store for this year.
- Does any part of Get Absolutely Fucked still give you chills when you listen back to it?
None of it really gives me chills anymore. It was recorded almost a year ago, and looking back at it, there’s actually a lot I would change.
- Was there a time in your life where you needed a song like Get Absolutely Fucked?
I regularly have times where I need a song like Get Absolutely Fucked. Life is hard, and it’s definitely an anthem.
- If you could perform Get Absolutely Fucked at any event or in any setting, where would it be?
I have no idea, I haven’t really thought about it. Maybe at a rally for women’s rights or something like that.
- What’s a small detail in Get Absolutely Fucked that you think will only be noticed by hardcore listeners?
You know, with these being early tracks, there’s not a lot of small details or easter eggs, but if you’re really listening, the backing vocals on all the EP tracks are absolutely epic.
- Were there any parts of the song you initially second-guessed, only to decide they were perfect as is?
At first, I really didn’t like the chorus, like at all, but decided to just go with it, no one’s early tracks are perfect.
- Did you have a specific person in mind when you recorded Get Absolutely Fucked, or is it a message to a type of person?
I had a specific type of person in mind. It’s kind of a general statement to any mean, bad person.
- What’s something you think people will assume about Get Absolutely Fucked that’s totally wrong?
I think people will assume it’s a defining track, and it’s not. I have so many projects I’m working on as a new artist and this is just the beginning.
- How does Get Absolutely Fucked fit within the overall theme of your EP?
I feel like a lot of the EP is about empowerment, and Get Absolutely Fucked is just on the angrier end, telling people off, as that’s a part of empowerment too.
- What’s the vibe you imagine fans feeling when they blast Get Absolutely Fucked with their friends?
I hope fans feel angry and they think of their people they wanna sing this song to.
- In three words, what does Get Absolutely Fucked mean to you?
One of the phrases I’ve started using regularly in life is, “get fucked, stay fucked”, and I think that Get Absolutely fucked is gonna speak to that for the rest of my life. And it will remind me to stand up for myself.
