London-based experimental producer Vegyn has announced the release of his new EP and reunited with UK rapper Jeshi for the project’s opening track “I See You Sometimes”.

The EP, entitled Like a Good Old Friend, is set for release on March 19th.

“I See You Sometimes” feels like it was pulled straight out of a late night in a London club. With an undeniable bounce, accompanied by vocals from Joshi that feel like they were put through a phaser, Vegyn is at the top of his game once again.

Vegyn, the moniker for Joe Thornalley, has been a fixture in the UK club scene for nearly a decade due to his unconventional style of playful, intricate, and left field production. After years of issuing music through his own label, PLZ Make It Ruins, Vegyn caught the attention of Frank Ocean, who invited him to work on his 2016 projects Endless and Blonde. From there, the relationship between the clandestine Ocean and Vegyn festered into an impressive collection of art. Vegyn would go on to tour with Ocean through his 2017 festival run, and he would later become co-host and curator of the Apple Music Radio show blonded RADIO.

Vegyn’s last release came in 2019 in the form of his official full-length debut, Only Diamonds Cut Diamonds, which featured JPEGMAFIA, Retro X, and the aforementioned Jeshi.

Like a Good Old Friend is due out on March 19th via PLZ Make it Ruins. Pre-order the project here and watch the video for “I See You Sometimes (feat. Jeshi)” below.
