When Maj3sty started searching for a bigger meaning to life, he didn’t anticipate children and students becoming a part of that search. We’ve seen how California and Inglewood Artist D Smoke was teaching high schoolers in Southern California, but still pursued his dreams of becoming a notable hip-hop artist. Maj3sty isn’t from the streets of Inglewood or North Carolina, but we see similar momentum building in terms of pursuing a dream.
D Smoke stayed consistent in his thought process as a motivator before appearing on Netflix’s TV series “Rhythm + Flow” in 2019. Winning wasn’t the only wow factor but, his ability to speak English and Spanish in his songs, naturally. Now the question that is being proposed is, what makes Maj3sty a wow factor?
When you listen to Maj3sty’s music you don’t hear tales of growing up in the streets, running in dangerous crowds, nor bilingual bars showcased in songs. You do hear God in his music and not in a religious manner. He has somehow managed to bring his experience as a Counselor, Teacher, and a Prophet. You’re able to go through his catalog and see the gradual building of his confidence and journey as a dreamer and a speaker.
Occasionally you may hear Patwah, Spanish, or even Swahili in Maj3sty’s music. He has blended rap, hip hop, r&b, reggae, rock, blues, trap soul, and gospel into a sound that doesn’t have a category. There’s no profanity in his music which is amazing being that hip hop is filled with self-expression by any means necessary. Obviously Maj3sty has endured, overcame, and is conquering hardship. You hear him on a mission to conquer himself and the world with the intensity of a Lion.
We asked Maj3sty to give us a phrase to use to describe his state of mind and his response was, “My life is not my own, nor does my purpose belong to the world or mankind. My life and purpose are for The Father, they belong to Him. I’m walking in faith, hoping that people are positively impacted by it.” Humble and sage-like wise words from this natural mystic who is bridging the gap between culture and gospel.
