JV Darapsinga Talks Background, Influences, and Business Endeavors


Upcoming singer/songwriter JV Darapsinga has made a name for himself in his local area. Based in the northeast United States, the creative wears many different hats as a singer, songwriter, producer, and filmmaker. We got the opportunity to personally interview the upcoming musician and you can check out the interview below.

Tell us about your background getting to where you are today?

I’m a singer, songwriter, producer, filmmaker, and owner of Jaestar Filmz LLC. It’s safe to say that I’m an entrepreneur with many talents.

Where are you from?

Born and raised in Boston, Mass. 

When did you start music?

I started music when I was about 17 when the pleasures and pains of life started to consume me and take control of my emotions. 

How did you get into music?

I got into music shortly after realizing my dreams as a basketball player was out the window. 

What is the most challenging thing you have overcome in your life?

The most challenging thing I’ve overcome is having no father when I needed him the most.

Are you currently signed or independent?

Indie.

Who inspires you the most musically?

I like artists like Donell Jones, Tony Thompson, D Angelo, Intro, Playa, R Kelly, Usher and JAY Z among others.

What do you want people to take away after listening to your music?

The truth, music that tells a story – My story.

Any new music coming out soon?

I have my debut album “I am Javon” available Worldwide right now on all major platforms as well as 2 blazin new singles “Keep it 100” feat Philly rapper Wyise. And “I Came A Long Way” ft Heavy Hitter DJ Chubby Chubb.” Both are doing well on the radio. 

What is your greatest achievement as a musician?

My greatest achievement is musically staying relevant and consistent independently.

Do you produce your own music? If not, who do you work with?

Yes I produce my own music, but I love working with new producers, that’s what makes music great, working with others and being inspired. 

Who is one artist you wish you could work with?

I would like to work with Kanye West.

Tell us about any new music you have coming out? When is it coming out? What is it about?

I have a new project I’m working on called the J.O.A.T. (jack of all trades) T.B.A I’m actively in the studio working on a project right now. I wear so many hats when it comes to music so I feel that the name fits my musical style well.

What does a day inside your shoes look like?

My days are work, work, and work nonstop. I feel that I don’t have time to waste. If it is not about chasing my dreams and staying focused on what I believe in then I won’t be participating.

Anything else you want the audience to know about you?

In 2004 I was featured on a song with Mobb Deep and Boston rapper Dre Robinson.
