Kylon Nichols, better recognized within the music world as K. Nick, is a recording and mixing engineer and artist who has found a way to merge both technical and creative aspects of music. From Little Rock, Arkansas, by origin, K. Nick has found his place working at Chop Spot Recording Studios and creating his own music. Now, as he gets ready to drop his much-awaited project “Wine Talk,” K. Nick is set to occupy the limelight with a distinctive sound that is a fusion of R&B and hip-hop.
From Inspiration to Creation
K. Nick‘s foray into the music scene began with a passion for music and a quest to develop a sound that focused on his personal taste. “I wanted to have control over my music,” Kylon explains, “so that made me want to learn the craft of engineering.” He honed his trade through education and apprenticeship, following in the footsteps of legendary producers like Kanye West, who not only rapped but also produced his own tracks. This double role of artist and technical enthusiast allowed K. Nick to take charge of his own artistic fate and assist other artists in doing likewise.
Overcoming Challenges in Little Rock
Challenges have not been scarce for K. Nick, notwithstanding his talent and enthusiasm. Exposure has likely been the biggest challenge, as the music scene in Little Rock, Arkansas, is not quite as extensive as it is in other hip-hop hubs. However, through Kylon’s emphasis on networking and collaborating with other artists, he found himself in new territories that set the stage for his impending breakthrough.
