Gerald LaFayette Grant II known as IAMKIING, was born September 21, in Mobile Alabama. He is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, martial artist & actor who was influenced by his older brother at a young age. He enjoyed watching to the power flow of Bruce Lee and the most significant cultural figure Michael Jackson, but It wasn’t until lamking saw Usher that he knew he desired the stage.
He later became a part of the dynamic duo Young G and Lil B where the group performed for several events and opened for national acts such as Chris Brown, Bow Wow, Mario, Snoop Dog, Ludacris, etc.
Pursuing solo, he graduated from Atlanta Institute with honors, signing to an independent label in Atlanta taking on the name G Five Da Prince. With his energetic and enticing performance, he toured with main stream artist. Also featured music videos such as TI “Big Things Poppin”, & Asia Cruise “Selfish”.
He moved back to his home town where he reinvented himself creating his own style & genre he likes II call “Hip-Pop/Rap&B”, soon after moving to the city of angels, Los Angeles California. There he featured in many commercials for companies such as Google, Samsung, Honda, etc. and videos such as Quintino “Devotion”, Red Foo “Where the sun goes”, and Nicki Minaj’s “Hey Mama” & many more. These experiences and heart pulsing, energetic records were the epitome of what the entertainer represents.
He currently has a New TV show on Hip Hop TV Called “IAMKING” where he takes you from the beginning of his journey to Stardom, it’s available on any smart phone or right at home on your Roku TV. In the last few months, giving birth to his company K VISION ENT, lamkiing has polished his sound along with captivating visuals to show he’s an innovating entertainer. Explosive singles such as “On Me” & “Sometimes” are currently available on all platforms, is preparing you for his upcoming EP Vol 1.
