Detroit, Michigan based hip hop artist Da Rich 1 has been making some noise with his newest project release “Deon”. The project, titled the rapper’s government name, contains 8 songs and lasts about 20 minutes in listening time.
Da Rich 1 explained that he didn’t even plan to release the record until next year, but felt God telling him to drop new music. “I wasn’t going to release an album until 2022,” said Da Rich 1. “I prayed about it and God said to me “why not now?”, in that moment I knew I was overthinking it.”
The release was definitely well timed, as the project peaked at #7 on the Christian section of the iTunes charts on March 19th. Despite wanting to wait for a budget, the project was supposedly released without any marketing budget at all.
Da Rich 1 confirmed the budget-less release with a remark “zero budget, zero campaigns, no team, no label, no management, just God and God alone.“
The release marks the rising christian artist’s first 7+ track release and his second release of 2021. “Deon” features a multitude of different vibes and appearances from rising talents Scootie Wop and Drup.
